A glimpse inside
Rain tapped on the windows as people streamed out of Masjid al-Huda. In a tall tower block nearby, a boy named Noah Khan walked beside his dad, their shoes squeaking on the wet pavement.
They reached Haggerston Heights, the grey building where they lived. The lobby smelled of damp coats and lemon cleaner. Near the lift, a bright Eid party flyer from the masjid was pinned to the noticeboard. Beside it, a fresh white poster caught Noah’s eye:
